2008 is here and I wonder what this year will spring forth. 2007 was a year filled with many challenges and many rewards.

I was blessed to have had the opportunity of set up a private orchid exhibit for His Holiness The Dalai Lama. In March 2007 HH visited Maui to bless the new Darma Center in Paia and speak to the people in Hawaii. He's a great fan of orchids and this was a once in a life time opportunity.

Also, the completion of a new home that has consumed my existence for several years.

But most importantly that my father is doing great after being diagnosed with cancer last spring. Never had there been a time of mortality and the fear of losing your parent(s) become so evident and for all of you who have been so patient, thank you.

Milt. Tome Yokoyama 'Red Berry', AM/AOS received the 2006 James and Marie Riopelle Award. This is my third time winning this prestigious award for what I love doing most.

I am blessed to be here on Maui doing what I love most, hybridizing and growing orchids, especially Miltonias and Masdevallias.
